I'm sorry. Not everyone has the resources or the place to build a catio. I'm just fortunate to have a spot that works well. I feel like I should say that it doesn't have to be nearly as elaborate for the cats to enjoy. I also have a couple of very simple enclosures, just wire dog kennels sitting on a wood pedestal, outside of a couple windows. I cut a hole in the kennel so that when I open the window they can go out. The cats love those just as much as the bigger structure. Just a thought. Maybe you could manage something like that. Yes, it is amazing to me that so much time has passed. As you suspect these cats are not alive any more. I miss them all terribly especially Eddy. He was one in a lifetime cat. I do have two other adorable cats now however and they also love the catio. In fact I have expanded the catio. There are more tunnels and it goes into a little house I built in the back yard. After sculpting with my paper mache pieces I add a "skin" of cloth (old bed sheets) dipped in white, all purpose glue. I use white sheets because it looks better on video but any color is fine since it will be painted.

That is cloth (old bed sheets) torn into strips and soaked in white all purpose glue.

Sorry, I'm don't understand.

Hello. As you can see on my videos after sculpting with paper mache pieces I add a "skin" of cloth (old bed sheets) dipped in white glue (I like Elmer's Glue All). As you can see at the 1:38 part of the video I took strips of cloth and folded them (to give them some bulk) and layered them on on top of the other. I made sure that the folded cloth strips of glue soaked cloth were loose so that they wouldn't lay flat, do that they looked open. I started from the back and worked forward as you can see on the video. That's all there is to it. There is nothing more complicated than that. I hope that is sufficient. I did discuss the making of the shark on my blog, here, papermacheblog.com/2014/11/05/paper-mache-great-bite-shark/. It's not very detailed but it might offer something I missed. Good luck! Dan

Well, your daughter isn't alone. I had many such comments. Truth is I tried making a short, tiktok version of this project with my usual time-lapse. I just didn't like it which is why I then made the crazy flip book video. Still, I put the short time-lapse version on my website if your daughter would like to take a look.
